Craft Courses
We currently have no formal courses planned. However on-line and in-person tuition is available and can be tailored to suit your level of expertise and cover the techniques you wish to learn. For example:
- Basic cutting - the "Window" method
- Borders & stringers
- Fine lines and other details
- Shading using hot sand, hot air and hot iron
- Parquetry patterns - such as Louis cube, basketweave, etc.
- Gameboards - chess, backgammon, ludo/uckers, etc.
- Veneering boxes
- Lining boxes
Examples of Previous Courses
- Introduction to Marquetry - basic techniques of pictorial marquetry
- Parquetry Patterns 1 - checkerboard and closed basket-weave
- Parquetry Patterns 2 - open basket-weave and Louis-cube
- Jewellery Workshop - simple designs for striking jewellery
- Further Marquetry Techniques - sand-shading, hot-air shading, fine-line detailing, fragmentation, etc.
